Laos to China
To the north of Laos lies the giant China. China is a massive country to explore and Laos borders with Yunnan province. Yunnan itself has plenty of attractions, including the industial capital of Kunming, or the more remote Dali and Lijiang. These later towns high in the mountains offer some spectacular treks.
Laos to China
The main border crossing between Laos and China is at Boten, crossing to Mengla in Yunnan province. Alternatively there are regular flights from Vientiane to Kunming.
