While in Laos
Laos is a laid back country offering trekking, temples, river islands and slow riverboat rides. Don't expect to do anything quickly in Laos, instead spend your time to relax and recover. The biggest draws in Laos are the capital Vientiane, and the UNESCO World Heritage City of Luang Prabang. Both offer a selection of temples, and a multitude of Buddhist heritage. The water falls near Luang Prabang offer their own unique source of relaxation.

Getting away from the main cities, Luang Namtha offers some excellent trekking options, while Pakse offers a gateway to a the 4 thousand island (Si Phan Don) in the river Mekong by the border with Cambodia. Huay Xai is the place to head to catch the slow boat overnight to Luang Prabang.
