Luang Prabang
After the capital Vientiane, Luang Prabang is definitely the biggest lure for travellers visiting Laos, and rightly so. The quaint town reminds visitors of what life must have been like throughout Asia a century before. It is still a hidden treasure, and while it does attract travellers, it still has the feel of a town lost in the jungle.
The town is situated by the river mekong, nestled into a curve in the river. In the middle of town is Phou Si hill, which offers fantastic views over the city. The airport is to the north east of the city, and offers a spectacular landing for incoming planes.
