Kuang Si Waterfall - Luang Prabang

Spend a day (or more) by heading out to Kuang Si waterfall, just 29km from Luang Prabang city. Getting there is easy, either by minibus, or songthaew and the views on route are great as your weave through ricefields and mountains.

Don't forget your swimwear, as you'll definitely want to go for a dip in one of the many pools that follow the multilevel waterfall. The pools near the bottom are relaxed, while those nearer the 'big fall' at the top are more intense. There are rope swings to entertain you as you dive into some of the pools, or risk jumping off some of the smaller falls yourself.

As well as the falls there are several foodstalls and restaurants to get food from. There are also a variety of animals, including monkeys and bears, in a mini zoo near the entrance to the park. If you are feeling strong, then climb up the side of the big fall. The views back over the falls are well worth the effort!
